Easy Quick “Recipes” to Beat the Heat12 Jul

When it’s hot out, many of us know to drink water. But is your body absorbing it? Here are 3 easy, natural ways (and a few surprises) to boost your body’s ability to absorb water.

water-drops-16-AJHD1. Eat a banana. Potassium is one of the primary natural electrolytes.*

2. Try coconut water (not coconut milk).

3. Add a little lemon or salt (or both) to a small glass of water. Salt is an electrolyte* and the citric acid from lemon has a similar effect.

*Electrolytes are so named because they create the conditions for electrical conductivity in the body which helps your muscles and body functions operate in prime condition.

Whatever you choose, drink lots of water afterward, so your body stays hydrated.
